About the initiative

Memory decline disorders like dementia have struck as many as 4.1 million people in India. With a rapidly aging population, there will be a definite rise in these numbers in the future.

Despite the seriousness of these diseases, awareness about them remains low. Many people ignore the early signs mistaking them for normal aging and hence lose out on opportunities for treatment and improved quality of life.

To change this picture and raise awareness about dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, Alkem has launched this website, I REMEMBER.

WHAT IS ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE?

Alzheimer’s is a progressive brain disease that damages brain cells and disrupts brain functioning. It leads to the detriment of memory and thinking ability; The symptoms gradually worsen as time passes. There is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s, but treatments that can reduce the symptoms and improve the quality of life of the sufferers are available.
